The 3nd Annual Inland NW Ruck is a long distance backpacking clinic is designed for anyone interested in doing a long distance hike, especially on the Pacific Crest Trail, Pacific Northwest Trail, Continental Divide Trail or any other long distance trail.
Our presenters are experienced long distance hikers and Triple Crown recipients. Triple Crown recipients have hiked a minimum of 8,000 miles and completed the Pacific Crest Trail, the Appalachian Trail and the Continental Divide Trail. Presenters share from their hard earned adventures and experiences. Plenty of time will be given to talk to and interact with these highly experienced hikers
Guest presenter Clay Jacobson will share pictures and tales and his experiences from his journey on the Idaho Centennial Trail. Nutritionist and trail organizer Aria Zoner will discuss nutrition and the demands of proper diet on the trail. Aria Zoner has helped establish the Hot Springs Trail, 7 Summits of the Siskiyous Trail and other trails.
Topics covered in this 8 hour clinic include:
- Food and re-supply
- The PCT, ICT, PNT, and other trails, and what you need to know
- Giving back to the trails
- Presentation on the Idaho Centennial Trail
Attendees are encouraged to bring their backpack and gear. One of our experienced members will gladly go thruough and review the gear in a one-on-one pack shake down. The goal will be to create a lighter weight pack tailored to you and your desires.
Muffins and coffee will be available starting at 8:15 when the doors open. A potato bar lunch will be provided to those who pre-register.
